Saddlemaking

Old-style Visalia saddle hanging on porchPete enjoys the challenges of making saddles. He is usually limited to doing this in the dark winter hours, as he is either mowing the lawn, cutting and baling hay, mowing pastures or riding young horses when daylight permits. Below are pictures of two saddles he has made.

The saddle hanging on the porch rail is made on an "old-style Visalia" bull hide covered tree made by Superior Saddle Tree Co.

The saddle in front of Linda and Pete was built on a Steele bull hide covered tree with brass fittings and stirrups.
